About Me
Story Teller – Travel Journalist and Destination Specialist
A globetrotter and a veteran with over 40 years of travel experience, I could not be in any other industry other than travel. My heart beats travel, travel and more travel. My love of history, people and culture led me to gain my qualifications as a Travel Journalist nearly 15 years ago. I am not one to count countries instead I look at ‘where to next’ and as such research has been an integral part of my business. I believe that communication can only be effective if it is ‘felt’, not just read or heard. After many years of writing about destinations, 2016 saw the opening of my own tour company with local partners– Enticing Bhutan. Since that time I have escorted many small groups to the magical Kingdom sometimes referred to as the Last Shangri-la. I now have strategic partnerships in Nepal, India, Laos, Turkey, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Cuba, Oman, Egypt, Morocco, Madagascar and Africa. I love River Cruising throughout the waterways of Asia and Europe and as a specialist with several companies, I am well placed to assist with such journeys. The Runaway Suitcase Podcast began to assist smaller boutique travel companies showcase their destination. It is difficult to be an expert in every country, interviewing owners of companies who specialise in a destination allows listeners to gather ideas that can then transfer into connecting with the suppliers and downloading itinerary suggestions directly from our website.
